Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey – Expériences : L’entrepreneur créatif


It’s great. There are over 10,000 people working in
the video games industry in the province of Quebec. And most of them are employees. What I wanted to do is create a brand. Create more than jobs. Panache calisse! This… Wait, wait! (laughs) Now I’m ready. Panache calisse! That’s our rallying cry. I love it! People will really hear that each time? Yep! All around the world. I said I wanted to meet people outside of games.
We talk about their reality and then I show them mine. This looks awesome. My name is Master Bougaricci. I am the master of urban
couture on this planet. I’m the textile and fashion boss. I love quality and locally made stuff. I love fashion and it’s one of the biggest industry in the world.
But it’s also the second most polluting after the petroleum industry. I have at heart my province of Quebec but I also care about the
environment. So fashion was the best hobby horse I could choose. I truly want my brand to travel the world. I don’t want it to stay local. And it takes some strong heads to do this and a whole
lot of confidance to say “let’s do this” for real. How I see it is that you can either be a surfer
and surf the wave, or you can be the wave. Personally, I don’t want to surf the wave.
I will create the wave so people can surf it. So now I can use my two hands. Being able to use my two hands now means that I can alter objects. Soon we’ll be making weapons! Yeah Wow. Everything’s possible now. I’m extremely proud of my team. There’s 30 of them all handcrafting this game. Pushing the quality And it’s all done here in Quebec. Yep. All done here. Fred here, he’s worked at Microsoft. He spent
three years in Seattle and came back for us. I came back to create some wealth for Quebec. Kudos man. If you surround yourself with people more talented
than you, that just makes you look more intelligent. I prefer to have people on my team who I need to slow
down rather than people I need to push continuously. I know what you mean This is how we can move forward. Alright! Now show me around. I love this. We connect! Are you going to find some fish now? What are you gonna do? You want me to grab some fish? Well yeah … That’s probably what I’d do if I were him. No way! Woah! Haha Sometimes you buy a shirt and after just one wash it doesn’t fit anymore. Things aren’t pre-washed. When they blend fabrics
together, they don’t test to see what will happen… You see… I’ve been wearing the same shirt for 10 days now. I wash it every night. I test it. I look at how the fabric reacts. That’s the part that interests me the most. Is this a good spot? No way! That’s cool. That’s really cool. So anything that is logical and plausible can be done. Basically yes. I haven’t played that much, but this looks to me as if
Assassin’s Creed or Prince of Persia were sort of incomplete. I mean, it’s true that there is some continuity in my work. My last Assassin’s game dates from 2009. Now I’ve been working on Ancestors
for the last four years. But yes, they are from the same guy in the end… Totally. It’s from the same guy and I’m glad that you mentioned it. Yeah. You’ve gone to the end of something here. That’s how games are made. It’s as if you had to re-make
your shirt and jacket over and over, thousands of times. Yeah Over and over. It’s not about finishing a level. That’s not it.
It’s about being in Africa with my clan following me. It’s up to you to be curious, to use your intelligence and to show initiative. In all my projects, I like to be bold. I think big. Always. I thought I was alone on this boat. But I can see I’m not. It’s no secret. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Quebec How much I love entrepreneurship, and most of all
how much I love seeing what we are capable of. And that’s where I believe Patrice and I connect.
He sees things as big and as grand as I do. That’s it. That’s what we do at Panache. We make good games with this idea of creating intellectual property therefore, real wealth for our province. Ancestors is our first game. Now we have a toolbox for making other games. As I’ve said before: “You put a cape on the ape” and you can make a whole new game. Now I’m in the cool spot where games are made in Montreal, in Quebec. And that’s exciting. This guy is going to become a friend for sure.
He doesn’t know it yet but he’s stuck with me.

  2. Seen the trailer and I’m not impressed with the cgi, main point is the idea that a common tree monki evolved into you and me is so Darwin-isn’t in short Bullshit,
