What’s in your car emergency kit?

What’s in your car emergency kit?

You never know what can happen when
you’re on the road, and that’s why it’s important to have an emergency kit in
your car to keep you and your family safe, no matter what the season. This is
the Red Cross safety kit, which you can find online and we’re going to take a look
at what’s inside. First up we have emergency drinking water. This is good
for one person for about three days which is why we also include a water
purification tablet, and then you can fill this collapsible water bottle which
is good for about ten litres. Next we have booster cables which is something
everyone should have in their car and then we have a food package. This is good
for about five years so you don’t have to replace it very often. Next we have a
solar powered flashlight and radio and you just use it by turning this crank on
the side here. This also comes with a trickle charger which you can use to
charge your phone and it’ll give you enough battery life for at least one
phone call. Then we have a glow stick, a whistle. This kit houses all the usual
suspects like bandages, scissors, things like that but there’s also a few other
things to help keep you safe. There’s a poncho, gloves, an SOS sign that you can put in your window and a high-visibility
vest. So these are some of the things that
everyone should have in their car. You can buy this at products.redcross.ca and you can get the whole kit or you can get the products individually.
